No-wake declared on Fox River, Chain

No-wake status has been declared on the entire Fox River and Chain O' Lakes from the Wisconsin border to the Algonquin Dam in Algonquin, the Fox Waterway Agency announced. No-wake status is usually the first sign of potential flooding, and means boats are not allowed to travel at speeds fast enough to have created a wake. The National Weather Service has predicted water levels have crested on most sections of the river and are starting to recede. However, forecast models show the river will remain above flood stage in certain areas until the weekend.
