Sporting wastes chance to reach the top in Portugal

LISBON, Portugal (AP) - Sporting Lisbon wasted a chance to take the lead in the Portuguese league after a 2-0 loss at Estoril on Sunday.

The result left second-placed Sporting two points behind leader Porto and level on points with Benfica. Porto has a game in hand.

Charalampos Kyriakou and Ewandro scored first-half goals in Estoril to end Sporting's unbeaten streak in the league this season.

Video review was used three times in the match.

Porto, the only unbeaten team left, defeated Braga 3-1 on Saturday, while Benfica routed Rio Ave 5-1.
