UAB hires Bryant Vincent back as offensive coordinator

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - UAB coach Bill Clark has rehired Bryant Vincent as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Vincent, whose hiring was announced Friday, ran the offense for the 2014 UAB team that set school season records for yards, points and points per game.

He spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons as South Alabama's offensive coordinator. Then-Jaguars coach Joey Jones fired Vincent after a 1-3 start last season.

Clark says Vincent should be able to have "a seamless transition" back to UAB. He inherits an offense with 10 returning starters, including quarterback A.J. Erdely and tailback Spencer Brown.

At South Alabama, quarterback Dallas Davis set school records for passing yards and total offense in 2016.
