Aptakisic-Tripp Elementary District 102 is starting construction Monday, Feb. 5, on renovations at Meridian Middle School, which is the latest part of a $25 million districtwide expansion project.

A week later, the district is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at the school located at 2195 Brandywyn Lane.

The district is adding space at the middle school for early education programs as demand has increased. The district plans for the new facility to be open for the 2018-2019 school year.

The district is still determining whether to name the school Meridian School or Meridian Intermediate School.

Construction on an expansion for more classrooms and fine arts space at Aptakisic Junior High School started in October.
