Leonard scores 31, Colorado women end skid 69-65 over Utah

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Kennedy Leonard tied her career high 31 points, including the clinching free throws with 2.6 seconds left, and Colorado ended a six-game losing streak with a 69-65 win at Utah on Thursday night.

Leading 49-47 entering the fourth quarter, the Buffalos (12-10, 3-8 Pac-12 Conference) scored the first six points of the fourth quarter, four by Brecca Thomas, who had 13 points off the bench. Twice the Utes (14-8, 5-6), who have lost three straight, got within one in the final minute only to have Leonard answer.

Tilar Clark had two free throws for Utah to make it a one-point game one last time with six seconds to go, but Alexis Robinson made one free to answer at 5.1. Leonard iced the game after a turnover.

Utah scored the first 16 points of the game but Colorado answered with the next 12. The Utes were up six at the half but the Buffs had a 14-0 run late in the third for the only lead change of the game.

Megan Huff had 18 points and 13 rebounds for Utah with Daneesha Provo adding 15 and nine and Emily Potter 14 and 11.
