The Madison County Coroner's Office identified the couple as 70-year-old Randall R. Witter Sr. and 59-year-old Rhonda M. Witter. They found heavy flames in the living room when they arrived.

Firefighters searched the home and found the Witters. They were pronounced dead shortly before 6 a.m. Autopsies and toxicology tests were planned. Authorities say the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
