Acts of kindness deserve recognition

Often, the work of community members and service organizations is overlooked. Most volunteers are not looking for recognition or praise for their efforts, but I would like to commend members of the St. Charles Moose Lodge for spending the week prior to Thanksgiving dedicating their time to cook 105 donated turkeys for the Salvation Army so that those in need would have a hearty meal on Thanksgiving Day.

Not only did they cook and carve these turkeys, they dedicated part of their Thanksgiving morning to prepare all of the sides and deliver this meal to the Salvation Army. This is only one example of the many acts of kindness provided by members of the St. Charles Moose Lodge.

There are also many other organizations that spend time throughout the year dedicating time and resources to those in need. Instead of flooding our newsfeeds with all the negativity that's going around, let's flood our newsfeeds with all of the acts of kindness done by the service organizations throughout our community. I am honored to be a member of this service organization and of this community and I look forward to hearing about the many other acts of kindness that others provide.
