'Flash mob' fetes retiring Mount Prospect gym teacher

Lori Many, a physical education teacher at Westbrook Elementary School in Mount Prospect, is retiring at the end of this school year and she'll be missed by students and staff alike, say co-workers who describe her as a school favorite.

So they decided to surprise her Friday during an event she planned, the Wellness Walk.

A "flash mob" of kindergarten and first-grade students and staff danced to "Walking on Sunshine," and a former student of Lori's, Abigail Valpatic, 10, who is now a fifth grader at Fairview School, came to the school to sing the song.
