Lots of titles at Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale

Stock up on lots of great new titles at the Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale at the Dundee Library.

It will open from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, and will continue on Friday and Saturday, March 31 and April 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the library's lower-level meeting room, 555 Barrington Ave. (Route 68) in East Dundee.

This sale features thousands of all newly donated materials. Hardbacks are $2; paperbacks are $1; romance paperbacks are 3 for $1; DVDs and audio books are $2; CDs and computer games are $1; VHS and cassette tapes are 25 cents; and children's books are 25 cents. The book buyer's scanner fee is $10.

Hundreds of residents and patrons enjoy the diverse selection and low prices, so come early for the best selection.

Bring a nonperishable item for the FISH Food Pantry in Carpentersville and receive one free paperback book for each donation (limit 10). Don't forget the last hour special - all you can fit in a grocery bag for $3 on Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m.

The Friends of the Fox River Valley Public Library District is a group of local volunteers who enjoy helping the library prosper and grow through various fundraising activities. Proceeds from events like their biannual book sale have resulted in many enhancements to the library such as a 3-D printer, VHS to DVD and vinyl to MP3 digital conversion equipment, the Peek-A-Book system in the children's department, added titles to the audiobook, Spanish, and large print collections, and a popcorn machine that is used during movie events.

The Friends meet every third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Dundee Library. All are welcome to attend and join.
