Member of Modifications Committee for Stonebridge Community Association.Elected offices held: President, Home owners associationQuestions Answers What makes you the best candidate for the job?I am a results oriented retired executive with the time, energy and integrity to serve as the full time representative for ward 10 and on the Aurora City Council for the betterment of all Aurora.What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.The property taxes for DuPage County / Naperville township are too high. We need to increase and diversify the tax base to reduce taxes and maintain them at the lowest possible levelRate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?Police and Fire Coverage for the City of Aurora are excellent. Both are well funded and need to continue operating at the high level of efficiency that they currently operate at.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?Economic Development is underfunded and this needs to be addressed with better funding. Consolidation of some services such as township road maintenance would be more efficient and would serve to reduce taxes.What is one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Develop a plan that recognizes the decline of "Bricks and Mortar" retail to ensure that full occupancy is maintained with alternative business and residential options for the Fox Valley Mall and Commons areas.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?The Rte 59 BNSF Metra Station in Ward 10 provides an excellent opportunity to market Aurora as a preferred and affordable Western Suburb with direct access to downtown Chicago. Continuous improvement to the Station and surrounding corridor is an absolute necessity.Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Bill Gates. He built a large and successful business empire and is now dedicating his life to humanitarian endeavors.What is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Listen well to what is being said whether good and bad.If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?Traveling more to study and appreciate diverse cultures.What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?English. It enabled me to appreciate the written word and communicate effectively.If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Enjoy life and always "be there" for friends and family.
