Afraid for schools with DeVos at helm

How did we get here? I contacted and strongly urged my U.S. senators along with senators from other states to vote no to Betsy DeVos. I know I was not alone.

How does someone who never went to a public school, whose children never attended a public school, as well as someone who has no clue as to how important IDEA and Title 9 are to all of our children end up as secretary of education?

I simply don't know what is worse, how unqualified this person is or the fact that she bought this position by donating almost $1 million to Republican senators, all of whom voted for her.

Sen. Marco Rubio led the way with $100,000. The Republican senators who voted for her should be ashamed of themselves.

I am grateful that my three daughters have graduated from college, but I fear for all those children in school now, those who have yet to attend, and for all the wonderful teachers out there.
