P.E. requirement needed at schools

Senate Bill 0013 would let students in grades 9 through 12 waiver out of Physical Education. State Sen. Julia Morrison from Deerfield is sponsoring this bill.

The issue here is if students waiver out of P.E. how will they stay in shape and be healthy and not be a burden to society in the future? Has Morrison not read all the reports on obesity in this country? Has she not read reports on the correlation between exercise and brain function in the classroom and motor literacy?

Physical education needs to still be a four-year requirement in order for our students to be able to learn and understand how to take care of themselves and not be a burden to society in the future.

If we as a society continue to let senators sponsor bills and we do nothing about it then I guess we will just let Big Pharma continue to develop more drugs for our society and dictate health issues in our country.
