Cubs postcard: Grime fighters
MESA, Ariz. - It's gotta be the shoes.
Every day, baseball players get their spikes caked with mud and grass. And after every game or spring-training workout in Arizona, the Cubs clubhouse staff makes those spikes look like new by scraping the dirt off of them and spraying the tops of the shoes.
The next day, the process repeats itself.
