Candidate withdraws from Arlington Heights library board race

Colette Harris, a candidate for Arlington Heights library board, has withdrawn from the race, which makes the election uncontested.

Harris said in a statement she had some recent unexpected developments that led to her withdrawal. She had been vying for one of three available spots on the board against three other candidates - Board President Debbie Smart, incumbent Marianthi Thanopoulos and newcomer John Supplitt. Each position is for a 6-year term.

Christine Tangney is running unopposed for a 4-year term on the board.
