When one thinks of Elk Grove Village, one generally does not think of lakes. But Elk Grove Lake Estates is a hidden gem containing lakes Pita and Cosman, and it borders the Ned Brown Forest Preserve, otherwise known as Busse Woods.

Despite its serenity and natural beauty, this beautiful neighborhood is only a short jaunt from Alexian Brothers Medical Center, all of Elk Grove Village's shopping and dining, and access to major interstates.

Nestled in the midst of Elk Grove Lake Estates and fronting on Lake Pita is a beautiful, 3,800-square-foot colonial-style home which, thanks to its unique location, actually has views of lakes from both the front and the back.

Built in 1980, it features four bedrooms and 3½ baths. A spacious great room with a vaulted ceiling and a gas fireplace overlooks the lake and private koi pond. Hardwood floors abound in most rooms.

The gourmet island kitchen features top-of-the-line appliances and a warming drawer.

No expense was spared to make this home a respite at the end of the day. It even features a brick paver driveway, a full spa on the first floor and a finished basement. Listing agents Larry and Lorraine Herforth share more:

What is this home's hidden gem?

"The gorgeous pergola-covered deck overlooking the lake is breathtaking during warm-weather months."

Who is the perfect buyer for this home?

"This home would be ideal for a physician who needs to be close to Alexian Brothers hospital when "on call," or a move-up family from within Elk Grove (since everyone in town wants to live in Elk Grove Lake Estates) or an executive transferring to the area."

What is the coolest thing about living in this neighborhood?

"The coolest thing about the neighborhood is that these are all different custom homes. The neighborhood is close enough to walk to all the stores, library, theater, park district and forest preserve -- and also has easy access to the highway."

What is one adjective that you would use to describe this home?

"Resortlike. When you live here you feel like you are on vacation all the time."

What are several trees, shrubs or plants featured in the yard?

"The landscaping is beautiful with flowering trees, a variety of mature hostas and hydrangeas."
