Fermilab scientists face kids' questions
Scientists working to understand the mysteries of the universe met one of their biggest challenges Sunday - kids with questions.
More than 100 young scientists visited the Lederman Science Center at Fermilab in Batavia for its monthly Ask a Scientist program. They came with questions on everything from the Big Bang to how a particle accelerator works.
The featured scientist was Justin Vasel of Indiana University, whose topic was "Supernovae and Neutrinos: Where Enormous Explosions Meet Puny Particles."
The event also featured tours of Fermilab's first two accelerators, the neutron therapy area and the Main Control Room.
