The Lake Zurich High School Drama Department had announced that the fall theater production, "LOVE/SICK," was selected to perform at the Illinois High School Theatre Festival Jan. 5-7 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

The Festival has around 4,000 attendees each year and is the largest festival of its kind.

"LOVE/SICK" is one of 23 shows selected to be performed at the festival from around the state.

Over 75 actors and crew members will represent L.Z.H.S. at the statewide event in front of their peers.

Lake Zurich High School has not brought a production to the festival since 2009 when they presented "The Wedding Singer."

In addition to this honor, earlier this year three Lake Zurich High School students were selected to be part of the All-State Company of "Sweeney Todd." Kyle Bajor, Nicole Schemansky and Jason Washburn will be technicians for the show.

"LOVE/SICK" features nine slightly twisted, insightful, and humorous short plays that explore the ups and downs of relationships. The setting is a Friday night in an alternate suburban reality, where various imperfect couples experience the joy, pain, humor and heartache that comes from being in love.
