Chicago Sky releases 2017 WNBA schedule

The Chicago Sky will open its 12th WNBA season on the road against the Minnesota Lynx on May 14, team officials announced Tuesday.

The home opener for the Sky's 34-game regular season is set for May 19 against the Atlanta Dream at Allstate Arena.

The Sky, led by superstar forward Elena Delle Donne and veteran guard Cappie Pondexter, will face Naperville native Candace Parker and the defending champion Los Angeles Sparks on June 6 in a nationally televised contest. The Sparks will visit Chicago on Aug. 18.

The WNBA's 21st season will begin on May 13 with three games: Seattle at Los Angeles, San Antonio at New York, and Atlanta at Connecticut.
