Long Grove trustee running for village president

Long Grove Village Trustee Bill Jacob will run for village president in the April 4 municipal election.

Jacob won election to the village board in 2015 as part of a slate that opposed a plan to levy the village's first property tax levy and advocated for the creation of a long-range plan for revitalizing the village.

In an announcement of his plans to seek the village president's office, Jacob states he has a strong commitment to unite the village board and the community, and listed among his accomplishments helping to accelerate the village's road paving program and working with fellow trustees to pass an incentive program aimed at attracting new businesses to the downtown.

Jacob also is president of the Indian Creek Club homeowner association and works as a sales director in the mobility/technology field. He and his wife, Nancy, have two children.

Current Village President Angie Underwood announced earlier this year that she would not seek re-election.
