Tasty news for Batavia: Salsa Verde coming

Salsa Verde Restaurants plans to open its fourth Illinois location, in the site of the former Hardees in downtown Batavia.

The owners have applied for a liquor license, according to Police Chief Gary Schira.

Salsa Verde has locations in St. Charles, Yorkville, Oswego and Indianapolis.

Aldermen will discuss the license application at a committee meeting Tuesday evening.

Hardees operated in the building at 107 N. Batavia Ave. for 1½ years, closing in 2015. It was a Burger King from 1988 to 2013.
