Conroy retains 46th House seat

Democrat Deb Conroy of Villa Park has won her third term to represent the 46th House District in Springfield.

The incumbent defeated Republican challenger Heidi Holan of Glen Ellyn for the second time in two years.

With all precincts reporting, Conroy defeated Holan with roughly 59 percent of the votes..

Conroy supports a proposed "millionaires tax" to limit tax increases on the middle class. She also says corporate tax loopholes should be closed.

During the campaign, Holan said, "Springfield has no standing to ask taxpayers for more revenue at this time." She said she would oppose all new taxes, including a graduated income tax.

The 46th House District covers all or parts of Addison, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Glendale Heights, Lombard, Oakbrook Terrace and Villa Park.
