Mount Prospect Ice Arena restaurant gets liquor license

Mount Prospect village board members this week granted a liquor license to a restaurant soon to be opened at the Mount Prospect Ice Arena, 1501 Feehanville Drive.

The license will allow the Bricks Wood Fired Café to serve alcoholic beverages at dining tables only.

The new restaurant will be Bricks' fifth location. The 3,000-square-foot restaurant will seat 90 and feature thin-crust, brick-oven-cooked, Neapolitan-style pizza. It will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The restaurant's owner, Bill Wilson, said there will not only be beer and wine, but also special drinks for the arena featuring vodka.

He told the board, "It's not going to be a typical bar scene. It's just going to be this one drink."

Wilson said the restaurant should be open for business within the next two weeks.

"We're really excited," he said. "They did such a terrific job with the ice arena. It's like walking into the United Center when you walk into that place."
