400 happy Cubs fans celebrate win at Bartlett sports bar

More than 400 fans screamed, hugged and high-fived Tuesday night at Bannerman's Sports Grill in Bartlett after the Cubs won Game 6 of the World Series 9-3, forcing a decisive Game 7 tonight in Cleveland against the Indians.

"Same thing tomorrow, baby!" said fan Scott Calderon, of Bartlett.

Here are some snippets of what people did, and said, during the game.

The loudest moment:

Addison Russell's grand slam homer in the third inning. One woman put her hand over her heart and her eyes filled with tears.

<h3 class="leadin">Cheers and jeers:

Fans cheered when the camera showed famous Cubs fans Bill Murray and Eddie Vedder in the crowd. They booed when the camera panned to Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James. People in the bar also randomly shouted, "Shut up Joe Buck!"

<h3 class="leadin">Thinking about a Game 7:

"I don't think I'm going to be able to sit down," said fan Lindsay Lange, of Elgin. A group of 20 people who were at Bannerman's plan to sit at the same table, in the same seats and wear the same clothes. "It's going to be nerve wracking," said fan Beverly Willis, of Roselle.

<h3 class="leadin">There is superstition:

Fan Greg McGinnis, of Streamwood, wore five shirts and his October hoodie while watching a recent Cubs playoff game, because he insisted each shirt was lucky. "I was sitting in my daughter's basement, sweating bullets. And she's like, take off some of those shirts! And I'm like, NO!" (He just had one shirt on Tuesday night).

<h3 class="leadin">A popular playoffs drink:

A Bryant Bomb ($4), named for Cubs slugger Kris Bryant. It's made with blueberry vodka and the new blueberry Red Bull.

<h3 class="leadin">Thinking of family:

Many fans thought about deceased love ones during the game. Lynne Pieroni, of Hanover Park, kissed a photo on her iPhone. It was a group photo from a Cubs game, including her friend Virginia, who recently passed away. "I've been talking to her all season. I've been saying, 'Whatever connections you have up there, Virg, use them!" Jeff Lange, of Elgin, recently put a W flag and a Cubs hat on his father-in-law's grave. "My father-in-law would be going crazy," he said.

<h3 class="leadin">Outdrawing the Cubs?

At Bannerman's, the Sox playoffs drew a crowd of only 40 people. Cubs games draw about 400 or more (it was standing-room-only during the weekend playoff games). But the bar is most packed for Blackhawks playoff games, the manager said.
