Submitted by PM&L Theatre

PM&L Theatre's second production of their 56th season, "Arsenic and Old Lace" by Joseph Kesselring, has opened, and will run for three weekends. The production is directed by Casey Audrain.

"Arsenic and Old Lace" is a farcical black comedy revolving around the Brewster family, descended from The Mayflower, but now composed of homicidal maniacs. The hero, Mortimer Brewster (played by Jerod Howard), is a drama critic who debates whether to go through with his recent promise to marry Elaine (London Baran), the woman he loves. His family includes his two spinster aunts (Regina Reynolds and Betty Slack) who poison and murder lonely old men with glasses of their homemade elderberry wine; a brother (W. Guy Finley) who believes he is Teddy Roosevelt; and a murderous brother, Jonathan (Ross LeFave), who has received plastic surgery from an alcoholic doctor (Ari Cohen).

Performance times and dates for "Arsenic and Old Lace" are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays through Nov. 13. Tickets are available online at pmltheatre.com and are $15 for adults and $13 for seniors and students. To reserve tickets directly through the box office, call (847) 395-3055.
