Sign up for 'Glacial Park by Candlelight' by Monday

Take a candlelight hike along the marsh and to Nippersink Creek while experiencing a fall evening at McHenry County Conservation District's "Glacial Park by Candlelight" from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the Glacial Park Conservation Area, Route 31 and Harts Road, Ringwood.

Learn about the local nocturnal wildlife and listen for their presence. After the hike, gather by the campfire and make a gourmet version of s'mores and share a toast with an adult beverage.

Participants who wish to share in the latter must be age 21 or older and bring a valid ID. This is a great date night or girls' night out! The hike is roughly two miles on mostly flat terrain. Meet in the lobby of the Lost Valley Visitor Center.

Registration and fee is required by Monday, Oct. 31. The fee for this program for ages 14 and older is $25 for county residents or $30 for nonresidents.

Register online at www.MCCDistrict.org, by mail and walk-in at Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road in Crystal Lake, or drop-off only at Lost Valley Visitor Center, Route 31 and Harts Road in Ringwood.
