Bicyclist hit by vehicle in Wheaton

A bicyclist was injured Tuesday when he was struck by a pickup truck on the south side of Wheaton.

Police on Wednesday said the crash happened about 11 a.m. near the intersection of Naperville Road and Blanchard Circle.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
 

A Ford pickup truck was traveling north on Naperville Road when it hit the bicyclist, who was going east across the road, according to a police spokesman.

The extent of the bicyclist's injuries were not immediately available, but authorities said he is expected to survive.

Police said the crash remains under investigation and no charges have yet been filed.
