Thillens will fight for change in Springfield

I am a mother and grandmother who has lived in Illinois my entire life. The terrible economy, rising taxes and decline of well-paying jobs are not the legacy I want to leave for my children and grandchildren.

Illinois Speaker Michael Madigan and others in Springfield do not seem to care what is happening to our state, nor are they willing to take the hard steps necessary to turn our state around.

In almost every ranking, Illinois is at the bottom of all states, except of course in the category of property taxes, in which we have the highest among all states.

If we want things to change in Springfield we need to elect new people who are willing to make the hard choices to save our state.

Please consider voting for Mel Thillens for state senator in November. Thillens is a local business owner who will fight for property tax relief and term limits for politicians.

He will work to restore jobs to our state and keep our taxes down.

It is time for a change in Springfield. After all, if we keep voting for the same people who are content with the status quo, we will keep getting the same result -- a state that is falling deeper and deeper into financial decline. Vote for Mel Thillens to give our state a fighting chance -- and our children and grandchildren a brighter future.
