Cubs racial barrier broken makes Billy Williams happy

When Dexter Fowler stepped into the box in the first inning, he became the first black player to participate for the Cubs in the World Series.

"I just found that out," said Hall of Famer Billy Williams. "It's crazy, but we haven't been there since 1945 and there sure weren't any black players on that team."

No, there certainly were not.

"It's a great moment for so many reasons," Williams said. "It's hard to believe this is really happening."
