Wade working on World Series wager with LeBron

Shortly after the Cubs clinched their first World Series berth in 71 years, Dwyane Wade and former Miami teammate LeBron James had a quick back and forth on Twitter.

"Let's talk!!," Wade wrote to James.

"Absolutely,!!" James responded. "We're placing a nice bet and more on this one my friend!"

No details of this Chicago-Cleveland wager have been finalized yet, but Wade promised to follow through.

Keep in mind, this may not be the most ardent rivalry during the upcoming Cubs-Indians World Series.

Wade admits to never being a die-hard Cubs fan, while James is an admitted Yankees fan who once wore a Yankees hat to an Indians playoff game.

The Yankees didn't make the playoffs this year, so James has been all in for the Indians. He and some Cavaliers teammates were on the field trying to fire up the crowd during the American League championship series and were frequent camera targets during the games.

Wade is hoping to attend Game 3 at Wrigley Field on Friday but doesn't expect the Bulls to match the Cavs' TV time with so many Chicago celebrities vying for attention.

"A couple of us have been to the games," Wade said Sunday at the Advocate Center. "I don't think they put the cameras on us the same way they have them.

"But a couple of us have been there to support to support the Cubs and they've been gracious and great to us in allowing us to come out."

Wade did have a suggestion for how a certain Bulls trio could get a little camera time during the Series.

"Listen, I know Scottie (Pippen) butchered the seventh-inning stretch (Saturday), but I think me and Jimmy (Butler) and (Rajon) Rondo, I think we could do a good job together, if they asked us to do it.

"It'd just cool to be a part of it. If they show us while we're there, it's cool. If they don't, it's still cool. It's about the Cubs."

Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg did grow up a Cubs fan and said he has used the Cubs as a role model for his team.

"I've talked about how together that team is, how much of confidence, how much of a swagger they play with," Hoiberg said.

"It's just a fun team that looks like it has unbelievable chemistry. They all get along. I like their chances just because of how confident they're playing."

Wade, who was at Wrigley Field for a first-round game against San Francisco, agreed with Hoiberg's reasoning.

"Whenever a team wins, you can learn a lot from them," Wade said. "It's all about winning, right? That team has figured out a way, even during this (Dodgers) series, when it looked like their back was against the wall, they came out swinging.

"They stuck together, it looks like they have a great time together. And that's what it's about.

"You've got to support each other, no matter who's on the basketball court for us or who's on the bench. It's all about supporting each other and really caring about the other guy.

"When you start caring about the other person, you don't want to let that other person down on the basketball court, you become a better teammate because of that."

Hoiberg said center Cristiano Felicio missed a second straight practice as he recovers from getting elbowed in the throat in the final preseason game.

Rookie Denzel Valentine (sprained left ankle) still was not a full practice participant.
