Arson suspected in fire at Illinois home where bodies found

KANKAKEE, Ill. (AP) - A fire has destroyed a home outside Kankakee where three men were found dead earlier this month. Authorities suspect the fire was deliberately set.

The (Kankakee) Daily Journal reports (http://bit.ly/2eBjOGV ) that the blaze in Pembroke Township occurred early Wednesday morning.

Fire Chief Mark Baines says several callers reported an explosion about 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators examined the ruins of the one-story cinder block home for several hours.

On Oct. 2, police discovered the bodies of 56-year-old Reginald Neal and his two sons, 24-year-old Dangelo Neal and 21-year-old Davante Hopkins. All were shot in the head.

Another man, 46-year-old Ralph Ledet Jr., was found dead in a driveway elsewhere in the township the day before.

Authorities believe the deaths are connected and are still investigating.
