Frassati Catholic Academy 8th Grader Goes to State

Frassati Catholic Academy 8th Grader, Bridig H. brought home a shiny medal after last week's Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) State Cross Country Meet, held on Saturday, October 15th, 2016 in Normal, Illinois.

Brigid might not have brought back the 1st place medal, but she brought with her the accomplishment of a Personal Best Record, completing her Class 1A 1-mile split time at 12 minutes and 21 seconds, placing 19th of 234 qualifiers in the state race. Brigid was less than 1 minute away from 1st place winner's result time.

Throughout the season Brigid has worked hard and continued to push herself to the next level and "Reach for the Heights" as the saying goes at Frassati Catholic Academy. Brigid exemplifies the very characteristics of that as the Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati that her school was dedicated after. She is not only a success on the course, but excelling at academics, faith and mission driven work.

In anticipation of Brigid's success at state, her classmates and teachers help motivate her by decorating her locker and making posters of encouragement. The entire Frassati Catholic Academy and Catholic Consortium of Lake County school system is proud of Brigid's accomplishments.
