Hoffman Estates holds drug disposal event Oct. 22

The Hoffman Estates Police Department will partner with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for a drug disposal event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the police station, 411 W. Higgins Road in Hoffman Estates.

Residents will be able to properly and safely dispose of accumulated, unwanted and unused prescription pills, including controlled substances, which have not been previously accepted by the Solid Waste Agency of Cook County (SWANCC). Participants can drop off unwanted pills with or without containers.

No liquids or needles will be accepted at the event.
