Learn about 'The Role of the Apron' with Elgin Woman's Club

The Elgin Woman's Club will hold a luncheon meeting and program on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Villa Olivia Country Club, Route 20 and Naperville Road, Bartlett. The business meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch served at noon.

The program will feature a presentation by Susan Zurcher. Her topic is "The Role of the Apron in a Woman's Life," from both a historical perspective and a current look, the design details of an apron can reveal the purpose, position, and practical application by the user. Each woman is asked to bring an apron of her choice to share its story and discover its original intent. Hostess for the meeting is Rita Corbett.

All attendees are also asked to bring non-perishable food items, which will be donated to a food pantry and will be given to the South Elgin Police Department to combine with their food drive items.
