Salvation Army to celebrate 25 years in McHenry County

Join in the 25th anniversary celebration of The Salvation Army in McHenry County at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22.

The Salvation Army, which is the largest direct provider of social services in Illinois, is celebrating 25 years of dedicated service throughout McHenry County.

The ceremony will be held at Salvation Army Corps Community Center, 290 W. Crystal Lake Ave. in Crystal Lake.

The Salvation Army event is designed to show its appreciation and support to the community, as well as to highlight the continuing need that remains in the area.

The Norridge Citadel Band and Songsters, a brass band and vocal choir, will be the main entertainment for the evening.

The Salvation Army in McHenry County assists the community by offering an array of needed services such as case management and emergency assistance that include emergency shelter and rent assistance, seasonal assistance with a Thanksgiving community meal, Christmas Angel Tree Program, Toy Shop, food baskets, summer Brown Bag Lunch Program and back-to-school supplies. Additionally, they offer emergency disaster response as well as worship and ministry services.
