Metropolis to Showcase School of Performing Arts Students in Upcoming Events

Students and alumni of Metropolis School of the Performing Arts (SOPA) will open for select concerts in the popular Artist Lounge Live series. This new program, SOPA to Stage, showcases Metropolis' students' immense talent while providing talented young artists with valuable performance opportunities at the theater's highly successful concert series.

SOPA to Stage kicks off November 2, 2016 when Metropolis welcomes alum Madeleine Spacapan as she opens for the Artist Lounge Live concert Unforgettable: Falling in Love with Nat King Cole.

Spacapan, an Arlington Heights native and Prospect High School graduate, was enrolled in SOPA between 2008 and 2010, and has since earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, an internationally renowned conservatory. Now in New York and pursuing her career in musical theatre, Spacapan is thrilled to return to Metropolis' stage for this performance.

"We can't wait to showcase our students and alumni through SOPA to Stage," said Metropolis Board member Allison Orr who developed the program, "Madeline is the perfect choice to kick off this initiative: incredibly talented, passionate about the arts, and most importantly, she is a great example of the amazing talent and potential within SOPA."

The Artist Lounge Live series performances are among the most popular events on the Metropolis schedule. Tickets for the November 2, 2016 concert are available at MetropolisArts.com or by calling the Metropolis box office at 847-577-2121.
