Girls swimming: Libertyville swims to dual-meet win at BG

Libertyville's girls swimming and diving team earned a 123-62 win over host Buffalo Grove in a nonconference dual meet Monday.

Emma Richert led the way for Libertyville.

She placed first in the 100-yard fly (1:03.39) and the 100-yard back (1:05.66). She also was on two first-place relay teams: the 200-yard medley with Meredith Robbins, Allison Morettini and Anne Barnett (1:53.52), and the 200-yard free with the same group (1:41.33).

Libertyville's Morgan Paul won diving with a score of 217.95.

Volleyball

Maine West d. Vernon Hills: Vernon Hills forced three games but lost to Maine West, 25-13, 26-28, 25-22.

Selin Kirali led Vernon Hills with 10 kills and 12 digs.

Kayla Caudle and Grace Hutson added 8 and 7 kills respectively for the Cougars, who drop to 8-21 overall.

Setter Caralynn Orbell had 36 assists and Taylor Harte led the defense with 14 digs.

Wheaton North d. Lake Zurich: Wheaton North dropped Lake Zurich in two games, 25-18, 25-19.

Wheaton North is now 26-7 on the season.
