Downers Grove Choral Society Begins 58th Concert Season with Honegger's King David

The Downers Grove Choral Society, under the direction of Artistic Director John Patrick Rakes, is looking forward to its exciting 58th Season which begins on Sunday, November 13, 2016 with Arthur Honegger's King David, with original orchestration. This oratorio and dramatic psalm, which traces the biblical life of David in twenty-seven movements, has been called a 20th century masterpiece. There will be a Pre-Concert Discussion at 3:15 p.m., followed by the 4:00 p.m. concert.

Downers Grove Choral Society, anchored in Downers Grove, draws its members from around the Chicagoland area.

All 2016-2017 Season concerts will be presented at Downers Grove First United Methodist Church, 1032 Maple Avenue, Downers Grove, IL.
