COD to Host 'Native American Identities in a Global Era' Symposium Nov. 2 to 4

In celebration of November as Native American Heritage Month, College of DuPage will host a free symposium "Native American Identities in a Global Era" from Wednesday, Nov. 2, to Friday, Nov. 4, on the College's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

All events during the symposium are free and open to the public.

Cosponsored by the Native American Studies Committee, the Latin American Studies Committee, the Liberal Arts Division, the Global Education Department and the Latino Outreach Center, the symposium will include a broad range of academic presentations, demonstrations, discussions and film screenings celebrating Native American culture and exploring the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Native Americans amidst growing globalization.

"We are particularly pleased that this symposium will allow Native peoples to have a central role in presenting their own culture, perspectives and voices, both directly from respected and renowned Native participants and via multimedia presentations and films," said Assistant History Professor John Paris.
