Girls swimming: Fremd's last dual is a victory at Conant

Fremd's girls swimming and diving team produced a typically strong all-around effort in earning a 97-81 victory over host Conant on Wednesday.

The Vikings wrapped up their Mid-Suburban League dual schedule with a 5-1 record, including 4-1 against their opponents in the West Division.

Fremd started out by placing first and second in the 200 medley relay, then grabbed another big advantage in the middle section of the meet by gaining back-to-back 1-2-3 finishes in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard freestyle.

In the fly, Lauren Streitmatter won in 1:04.21, with Stephanie Miller taking second and Paulina Pappas grabbing third. In the 100, Emily Bolger was first in 55.12, followed by Marie Grzybek and Sarah Rothmeyer.

Other individual winners for Fremd included Kristina Buzuloiu in the 200 IM (2:23.60), Sophia Kuehn in the 500 free (5:34.37) and Emily Zukowski in diving (203.75).

Conant's Aly Wooley had the top finish in the 50 free (25.55), and the Cougars also got first-place points from Kayla Wartman in the 100 back (1:07.01) and Lea Cejvan in the 100 breast (1:12.89).
