Historic Ravina event

Join the City of Highland Park's Historic Preservation Committee as they celebrate Historic Ravinia at the Mid-Century Modern event on Sunday, Oct. 9, noon to 4:30 p.m. at Ravina School, 763 Dean Ave. Participants will learn about the design and architecture that came to be known as "Mid-Century Modern." The event schedule is: noon, coffee and refreshments; 1 p.m., Dennis Rodkin of Crain's Chicago speaks about Chicago's greatest Mid-Century Modern structures; 2 p.m., docent-led trolley tours of Ravinia and Highland Park's mid-century modern architecture, advance sign up is required at HistoricRavinia.com; 3 p.m., PMid-century modern collector Anthony Rubano will discuss his collection; 4 p.m., silent auction winners announced.
