Boys soccer: Burlington Central routs Marengo

Jack Schramme's hat trick and 2 assist night helped the Burlington Central boys soccer team beat Marengo 7-1 in a Kishwaukee River Conference game Thursday.

The Rockets (7-6-5, 5-2-3) also got 1 goal and 1 assist from Luke Schramme. CJ Heinz, Kevin Green and Daniel Mendoza also found the net while Ryan Wilmington dished 2 assists. David Murphy nearly had a clean sheet with 1 save in net.

CL South 4, Huntley 1: The Gators (12-6-1, 4-2) helped their rival down Randall Road at Jacobs win the outright Fox Valley Conference title with a commanding win over the Red Raiders (11-5-1, 4-2). South received a hat trick from Nikolas Getzinger in the first half while Jack Wruck converted in a free kick. Andrew Grabowski and Ryan Coughlin added assists and keeper Brandon Gorka made 6 saves. Huntley's Aaron Ruffner added the lone Raiders goal from Zach Whitaker.

Elgin 4, Glenbard South 0: The Maroons (11-5) increased their win streak to 5 in nonconference action as Alex Serna, Tirso Reynoso and Pablo Perez all notched goals at Memorial Field. Carlos Ayala and Danny Zavala added assists and Elgin also benefited from an own goal by Glenbard South.
