Girls golf: Vernon Hills' Jung, Stevenson's Bai advance

Lake Forest regional: At Deerpath Golf Course, the sectional qualifiers included Vernon Hills senior Faith Jung (84) and Stevenson freshman Joyce Bai (85).

It was the fourth year in a row that Jung advanced.

Barrington (309), Buffalo Grove (352) and Lake Forest (353) advanced to Monday's Class 2A Buffalo Grove sectional at Buffalo Grove Golf Course. Lake Forest edged Highland Park (353) on a fifth-score tiebreaker.

Stevenson (365) and Vernon Hills (370) finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Lake Zurich (415) was ninth.

Stevenson's Olivia Stomberg shot a 91 and missed qualifying for the sectional by one stroke. The Patriots also received a 94 from Olivia Hancock and a 95 from Gina Shanley.

Vernon Hills, which carded its season-best score, also counted Becky Bahlmann's 94, Grace Im's 95 and Ally Ripes' 97.

Lake Zurich was led by Kelsey Kee's 95 and Alexandria Leitl's 97.

Barrington's Nicole Ciskowski was the medalist with a 71, while her teammate Reena Sulkar was the runner-up with a 74.
