Join the Big Sit on Saturday in Ringwood
Adults and children are invited to join the Big Sit from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, near the Powers-Walker House at Glacial Park in Ringwood. The Big Sit is an international bird-watching event where participants around the world create 17-foot diameter circles and tally the birds they identify throughout the day. Participants can bring a lawn chair and binoculars and stay as long as they like, although the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service will have binoculars and bird field guides to share. Take Harts Road west from Route 31 south of Richmond and follow the signs. Visit hackmatacknwr.org.
