Girls golf: Prospect second at Champaign Invite
Prospect's girls golf team tuned up for Wednesday's Class 2A New Trier regional by taking second place in Saturday's Champaign Invite, falling to New Trier by just one stroke 324-323.
Knights junior Margherite Pettenuzzo finished third in the individual competition by firing a personal-best round of 76.
Prospect freshman Kelly Kavanagh produced her lowest score in a varsity event with an 81 to tie for 11th.
Completing the Prospect score card and landing in the top 20 were senior Sabrina Accardi (tied for 14th with an 83) and sophomore Emily Fleming (18th with an 84).
