Harlem Wizards to be at W. Aurora H.S. Sept. 30

The Harlem Wizards are coming to West Aurora High School at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, in the school gymnasium. The Harlem Wizards will bring their team to West Aurora to compete against the "District 129 Blackhawks," a team comprised of teachers and administrators from West Aurora Unit District 129 for a two-hour game.

The Harlem Wizards brand of "Trick Hoops & Alley Oops" entertainment basketball has been packing gyms across the globe for more than 50 years.

Throughout the game, fans will experience a magical display of tricks, coordinated ballhandling, fancy passing and aerodynamic athleticism combined with high-energy comedy and audience interaction.

The event is being hosted by the Goodwin Elementary PTO as their largest fundraiser for the 2016-17 school year. Funds raised from the event will go toward programs and activities that directly benefit the students and their educational experience. Additionally, Goodwin has enlisted the help of every District 129 school to sell tickets and will share the revenue from the event benefiting all schools in the district.

Cala Brown, Goodwin PTO co-president, shares, "When you're in the stands, you're more than a spectator; you are part of the show with loads of audience participation."

Tickets are on sale now at goo.gl/zHSnCc. Tickets also are on sale through each school in the district. Cost is $10 for students and children; kids younger than three are free; adult tickets are $12; reserved seats in rows 2-4 are $20; and courtside tickets are $35.
