Tuesday Morning Quarterback

Daily Herald Report

Name: Ryan Kriceri

School: Metea Valley

Year: Senior

Grunt bona fides: The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Kriceri is not just a quarterback. The team co-captain has run for 2 touchdowns and thrown for a third as the Mustangs' backup quarterback, plus a sack and 2 pass knockdowns at outside linebacker and has nailed 7 of 13 punts inside the 20-yard line with a 40-yard average.

Don't tell my coach that: I need a breather — I don't like coming out of the game. I like to make an impact for the team and being out on the sidelines doesn't allow me to do that.

If I could change one thing about football: I would probably put more time on the clock, make it a little longer. It's so much fun being out there and playing, and games fly by. Like the Waubonsie (Valley) game really flew by, the next thing you know there's one minute left.

Team not on our schedule I wish we could play: I would really like to play Montini Catholic, I think that'd be a fun game. Year in and year out they're state champs and they have a high rep, everyone knows what they're about. I think it'd be fun to see how we stack up with them.

How I'll celebrate if I score a TD: I just give all my teammates a high-five, nothing too crazy.

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat: I don't really use any of them, but I'd probably say Snapchat is the most used.

What I like best about my school: Just the relationships I've built with all the guys on the football team. I think that's been real special. Some of them can continue with me beyond high school, and beyond college, into the real world.

Something about me that would surprise you: Nothing really. But sometimes there's a goofy side of me that likes to joke around and have fun. I'm not typically the loudest guy around and making a huge presence in the room, but there are times I like to laugh and have fun with the guys.

Other sports I play: I play basketball and am considering trying out for baseball this year. It's been awhile.

Favorite actor: Either the Rock (Dwayne Johnson) or Mark Wahlberg. Or Will Ferrell. That's tough. I love Mark Wahlberg, he's always a cool guy and he's funny. I love the movie “The Other Guys” with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg.

Favorite actress: I think I have to go with Megan Fox. She's attractive and she played a good role in the “Transformers” movies.

Favorite athlete: My favorite athlete is (Green Bay Packers quarterback) Aaron Rodgers. I love his story, what he's been through to get where he is today and his work ethic. He's confident in himself. He's a guy I really model my game after in every sport.

Favorite musician: That's tough. I'm a big fan of Old Dominion, the country group. It's between them and Rae Sremmurd.

The stat

IC Catholic Prep senior running back Jordan Rowell averaged 54.8 yards a carry in the Knights' 49-3 win over St. Edward. He took handoffs 10 and 13 yards and then ran for touchdowns of 99 and 97 yards for a total of 219 yards on 4 carries.

The tweet

“QB4.”

— Naperville Central running back A.J. Deinhart (@AjDeinhart), jokingly referencing his game-winning 2-point conversion halfback pass in Friday's 43-42 double-overtime victory over Wheaton Warrenville South.
