Elk Grove Village man charged with burglary

Bond was set at $75,000 Tuesday for an Elk Grove Village man charged with breaking into a man's house and rifling through his dresser drawers as he slept, police said.

Cody N. Cacciatore, 22, of the 100 block of Red Fox Lane, was arrested and charged Monday with one felony count of residential burglary, which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison if convicted.

Police said a resident of the 1800 block of Fox Run Drive, located in the same cul-de-sac as Cacciatore's residence, was awakened about 5:30 a.m. Monday to someone going through his dresser in his bedroom. The victim confronted the suspect, who ran out of the house, according to a news release.

Authorities believe he initially entered the house through an unlocked first floor window.

Police later that morning located a subject in the same neighborhood matching a description provided by the resident, and brought charges against Cacciatore.

Cacciatore is due in court again Oct. 27.
