Glen Ellyn bank robbed Friday afternoon

A US Bank branch was robbed around 1:36 p.m. Friday at 736 Roosevelt Road in Glen Ellyn, officials said.

Glen Ellyn police said they were told a man entered the bank and handed the teller a note containing a message demanding money, and the teller complied and handed the man an undetermined amount of currency.

The man then ran east from the bank, police said.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find anyone matching witness descriptions.

The FBI is looking for a black man wearing a green jacket, white T-shirt, blue jeans, a black hat with a white logo and white shoes. He is about 35 and about 5 feet 8 inches tall, according to Glen Ellyn police.

Nobody was injured, FBI spokesman Garrett Croon said.
