Why do supporters keep giving Clinton a break?
Regarding Richard Cohen's article of Sept. 13: Why do people like him keep making excuses for Hillary Clinton's lack of honesty and transparency?
She has been in politics for about 30 years and has a huge staff to keep her on task, and yet she keeps evading the truth. How often can people make excuses for her ineptness and still think she would be a good leader for our country?
Do I want a president who dismisses her mistakes continually by either avoiding giving answers or ignoring questions? No.
Unfortunately the press and so many supporters are willing to turn a blind eye to who she really is and must think she is still presidential. After hearing her make so many excuses for her inadequacies, I find it scary to think she could possibly be the leader of our country.
Do I think Donald Trump is great? No. But I am willing to take the chance for four years that he will surround himself with (and listen to) people who he knows are more knowledgeable in the areas where he lacks expertise.
He strikes me as a person who would never want to be associated with failure, so he would want to be a good president. I just know he can't be any worse than Hillary Clinton, who should know the ins and outs of politics after all these years and yet continues to get away with lying to the American public.
