Missing Round Lake Park woman found in Iowa
A woman police reported missing from Round Lake Park has been located safe in Iowa, authorities said.
Barbara J. Gagliardi, 83 of Round Lake Park, turned on her cellphone at about 3 a.m. Thursday and contacted a relative, Round Lake Park Police Chief George Filenko said.
The relative contacted the Round Lake Park Police while simultaneously keeping the woman on her cellphone, Filenko said.
The cellphone was traced to a Sam's Club parking lot in Dubuque, Iowa, he said. Police in Dubuque were contacted and the woman was found in her vehicle.
Gagliardi was transported to a hospital for a routine evaluation, Filenko said.
The last contact family members had with Gagliardi was about 11 a.m. Monday, and she did not show up for a scheduled medical appointment in Libertyville, officials said.
Family members reported her missing Tuesday, police said.
Filenko expressed gratitude to the public and media for their assistance in finding the woman.
